Our Story

How it all started...

Beacon Hill Baptist Church was planted by a group of believers from First Baptist Church of Somerset in 1965. For several months the Beacon Hill work was carried by a faithful group of men and women along with the pastor of First Baptist.

On July 16,1972, the Beacon Hill Baptist Mission was constituted as Beacon Hill Baptist Church. From that time forward, we have strived to serve as a beacon to the people of Pulaski County and beyond.

Where we are headed...

In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus gives his followers a mandate to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and to teach them to observe everything he has commanded.

We know we live in a culture that is becoming more and more resistant to the gospel message. People sometimes view the Bible as irrelevant, have felt mistreated by churches, or perhaps have disengaged with anything related to God.

As a church, our vision is to make Jesus accessible to everyone in our culture by removing barriers, yet without compromising the timeless message of Scripture. Like Paul in 1 Corinthians 9:12, who aimed to avoid hindrances to the gospel, we strive to adapt and connect with people in a variety of ways. As Paul goes on to explain in verse 22: "I have become all things to all people, so that I may by every possible means save some."

Our goal is to lift up the message of the cross while meeting people where they are, as Jesus did.
